Program FAQs

How do I get a Pick Up Scheduled?
•    Once the form is submitted, New Age Transportation will automatically be notified and a bill of lading created.  They will dispatch a driver.
•    Alternately, New Age Transportation 847-545-1894 ext 181 or ext 139 for direct requests should there be a problem with the network and access to the online form is limited or disabled.
•    Please refer to the Recycling Program User Guide

When do I have enough Equipment for a Pick Up?
•    Once the online form has been filled out and submitted, and you have at least one pallet or about 48”x48”x24” of equipment.
What if the equipment I have to dispose of is not on the list?
•    Contact this number 866-999-5704  or click here.

How do I initiate a shipment?
•    Fill out the online form and click “Submit”.  An email will be sent to the logistics company and to the recycling program associates, as well as to our inventory control division

How long does it take to for the truck to come once the pick-up has been arranged?
•    Pick-ups usually occur in 3-5 days.  You should be contacted by the logistics company regarding an ETA.

How do I package the equipment?
•    Try to palletize and stack equipment so that it will not be damaged in transit.  Although some of the equipment will be recycled the first order of business is to reuse as much product as possible.  It’s better for the environment and better for our bottom line.

How important is it that I list all of the models and part numbers?
•    Try to list ALL of the major pieces on the form.  Include as much information as you can.  It is not necessary to list keyboards, mice and smaller items separately.
•    Think of the criticality of the equipment, as well.  Printers have hard drives that have images of everything you have scanned, printed or faxed.  The company data is our first concern in these cases.  PCs and laptops and servers all have company information.  Be wise with our data.
•    For equipment to be reused, it must be in working order for the most part.  Try to be careful with packing and shipping as that also affects the final return we may get for the product.

What happens to equipment once it leaves our facility?
•    Equipment will be audited and all data will be destroyed.  Equipment will be evaluated for reuse or recycled if it is too old or has no value.

What do we do if one of the employees wants equipment?
•    There are no provisions for employee purchases at this time.  Please refer to your manager for more details.

Is there anything that we should NOT include?

•    Yes, Trash, Light Ballasts, Light Bulbs, Chemicals (refer to list of “Accepted Equipment” above).

Technology Reuse Facts

Did you know:

When you throw away a laptop, you throw away the 20,000 LBS of resources it took to make it!

Reusing 100 computers rather than recycling them would provide enough energy to power 65 homes for a year!

Reusing 100 computer rather than recycling them would be equivalent to removing 46 cars from the road!
