Computers & servers now include more than plastic and metal. As evidence in recent news articles, your computers now contain social security numbers, company financials, client information, employee records, and other valuable information that can easily cripple a company if it falls in to the wrong hands. Removal of this data is vital to a company's success in future endeavors. By choosing DMD Systems Recovery, you can trust that your data will be completely removed and leave your company free from potential data theft.
With 15 years of experience, DMD Systems Recovery has created a process and destruction facility that meets
the requirements of the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID). We are NAID certified and update our certification on a yearly basis. Our data destruction process is Department of Defense (DoD 5220.22-M) compliant and offers one of two methods: data wiping & data destruction. Additionally, we also operate by the standards set forth by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in their Guidelines for Media Sanitization. DMD Systems Recovery uses some of the most recent software that allows for the drive to be overwritten 3 times with 1's, 0's and random characters. If a drive cannot be wiped, it is destroyed through mechanical destruction of the board and plates of the drive.
Reclamere and the Department of Defense have both published guides regarding hard drive destruction. They can be viewed here:
Internal Security
DMD Systems Recovery's facility has 24-hour security monitoring through ADT and on-site video monitoring at both entries and the drive storage area. All "dirty" hard drives are stored in locked cages that can only be accessed by management at the time of data destruction.
DMD Systems Recovery also has software that tracks each asset from the computer that it is removed from to the end of its cleansing process. This allows you to rest assured that each computer, when compared with your inventory, has had its drive removed and sanitized.
In addition to facility security and software tracking, DMD Systems Recovery also practices a selective hiring process. DMD has offered their services to many Fortune 1000 Companies and Government Agencies, which require us to perform criminal and professional background checks on any potential candidate for employment. As added protection, DMD Systems Recovery employees do not have direct access to customer information. All data wiping systems auto boot to the data destruction software, only allowing the employee to sanitize the drive or exit the system.
DMD Systems Recovery's disposal process and equipment complies with the following standards:
- PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry) Data Security Standard
- NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Guidelines for Media Sanitization
- NIST SP 800-36
- NIST SP 800-88
- HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act)
- PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act)
- GLBA (Gramm - Leach - Bliley Act)
- California State Senate Bill 1386
We believe that your data is only as safe as the company that you choose. Trust DMD to sanitize or destroy your drives, and make your company safe from potential data thieves.
