DMD Systems | Data Destruction Processes

With over 15 years of experience, DMD Systems Recovery has created a time tested, trusted process for assuring you, the customer, that your data is safe in our hands. Whether you choose to take advantage of our mobile labs or to send your drives to our secure warehouse, you can trust us with your vital company information.

Internal Data Destruction

With our internal data destruction services, the process begins by transporting your equipment to our warehouse. Once the equipment is received, our auditors enter the system data in to our software and remove the hard drive from the computer. Once the drive is removed, it is entered in to our tracking software so that the life cycle of the drive can be viewed. The drive is put in to one of the secure areas and awaits the data destruction process. At three intervals throughout the day, one of our senior auditors installs the drives in the destruction terminals and lets our Department of Defense (DoD 5220.22-M) compliant destruction software go to work. After the data has been removed from the drive, it is updated in the tracking software and tested. If it passes testing, the drive is put in to inventory to be resold. In the event that the drive fails at the destruction terminals, the hard drive is taken to our punch system by one of the senior auditors and rendered inoperable. The software is then updated to show the drive as being destroyed.

Mobile Lab Destruction

Some customers have data that is so sensitive that the drives cannot leave their facility without being sanitized or rendered inoperable. For this purpose, DMD Systems offers a mobile lab. The mobile lab is operated by a senior auditor that goes from facility to facility with the ability to sanitize up to ten drives at a time. With the mobile lab, the process is the same as the internal data destruction. All drives have the ability to be tracked at any time during the process. After the drives have been sanitized, they are transported to our warehouse where we can begin testing the drives. After being tested, the drives are inventoried and resold.

With both services, DMD Systems Recovery offers full indemnity to protect your company and your vital information. All of our processes are certified by DoD 5220.22-M or National Association for Information Destruction's (NAID) and follow EPA guidelines. We provide certificates of destruction for all media and the ability to track the media back to the computer it was in. The bottom line is that you can trust DMD Systems to keep your data safe. Most importantly, "don't forget to wipe."
